Jocelyn Zhang is a junior attending Del Norte High School and is the President of Project Art of Learning. She first discovered her passion for science while competing for her school’s Science Olympiad team. Over her 6 years of competing in Science Olympiad, as well as other STEM competitions such as CyberPatriot and USNCO, she has won numerous medals on the Regional, State, and National level. She continued to explore her passion for science at science fairs, where she was a finalist at the California Science and Engineering Fair and has been invited to companies, research conferences, and symposiums to present her work. She currently conducts research as an intern at the University of California San Diego. In the past few years, she has also helped numerous clubs lead STEM workshop events for students around the world, where she noticed that many of the students she worked with had a strong desire to learn but simply lacked the educational opportunities to reach their full potential. She joined Project Art of Learning in order to help these disadvantaged students receive equal opportunities in STEM. As President of AoL, her mission is to nurture students’ love for learning and provide access to STEM education for all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background.
